‘Revenge’ story intro

This is a story that’s been with me for a long time.  I tried to do it a few times but it never worked out. I’m going to have another go at it…wish me luck!

Before I start posting new stuff for this story, I thought I would at least show a page of my last try.  Here’s the rough layout and the inks for page 12.  These were done in 2005.

An old comic book Jam!

Sometime in 2005, me and my two buddies Warren Leonhardt and Paul Dutton started a comic book jam.  We didn’t plan the story at all, except that we were going to try to do a long story.  Warren did the first three pages, introducing our hero, a bored teenager who comes across a strange looking animal.  Then Warren mailed a copy of his pages to Paul, who did two more pages, where our hero follows the little mutan creature thru the woods and to the ‘old abandon Dutton farm’.  The creature stops by the open door of the old barn when suddently a hand comes out and grabs the creature…now it was my turn to move the story forward and I did these three pages.

Now ,if like me, you wonder what’s inside that barn, please go to Warren’s site  and nicely ask him about it!  Maybe he will eventually find the time in his busy schedule to get back to our story! But be nice, I think he feels guilty enough as it is…

Post Scriptum Pin-up

Last November, as we were working on the comic jam, we all did a pin-up for fun, here’s mine.  Drawn with a Wacom tablet in Sketchbook Pro, with the lettering done in Photoshop.

Rome and a beach

Well these are the only skechtbook drawings I made in 2005, I know, I know…So my Italian wife and I went to Italy for two weeks, where we when to Rome, Amalfie, Venice and visited her Dad’s family somewhere north of Venice.

Like I said before, I don’t really draw in skechtbooks, but I tried on this trip, for like, two days, and then gave up.

So here they are…

This last one is totally weird! We when to this church who had 6 crypts in the basement decorated with the bones of 4,000 Capuchin Priest!!!!!  Hey, one of them in the 18 century saw himself as an artist and wanted to create these rooms…the church said okay and, well, the result is totally gruesome.  There was even the sceletons on two kids in there!  Hummm, a bit young to be priests we thought.  Anyway, we felt sick to our stomach afterwards.  My sketch is from memory, and as you can see, I didn’t finish it.  Just picture more bones on the ceiling arranged in an ‘artistic’ way and you get the idea…
