Evolution of an idea/ L’évolution d’une idée

Here’s the ’story’ behind my favorite comic story.  It all started with a conversation my son and I had a few months after his mom and I separated.  Even though he was with me half the times, he told me that day that he wanted me to come back and live at the house. A year or so later, the idea of illustrating that conversation came to me as I was looking at my favorite photo.

Voici l’évolution de ma BD favorite.  Le germe de l’histoire commence avec une conversation émotionnel avec mon fils de quatre ans, quelques mois après ma séparation avec sa mère. Il voudrait bien que je revienne habitée à la maison.  Une année passe lorsque l’idée d’illustré notre conversation me vient en regardant ma photo préféré. 

Even though the conversation we had was inside the house, I thought the picture represented well the emotion of the moment.  So I drew this with a brushpen sometimes in 1994… 

Même si en réalité notre conversation s’était déroulé dans le salon, j’ai trouvé que la photo représentait bien l’émotion du moment.  Donc j’ai fait ce dessin avec un ‘brushpen’ en 1994…

A couple of years later still, the inspiration came to do it as a comic, and using that picture for the last frame, I came up with this two pages comic:

I’ll be back in two weeks from my vacation with hopefully some sketchbook art from beautiful Nova-Scotia.

Conan prelim in colour

Played with some colours, looking a bit too ‘cartoony’ though…

Sketch I did this morning before starting work.

‘Unworthy’(5 pgs of 10)

This 10 pg story will be publish in the Fablewood anthology, and the editor asked me to delete the ending and only post the first 5 pages for now.  The rest will be posted again soon.

Cette histoire de 10 pages va être publier dans l’anthologie ‘Fablewood’.  À la demande de l’éditeur, je ‘post’ seulement les 5 première pages.  Le reste suivra bientôt.
