So ‘Contes et Légendes du Québec’ just came out in Québec and France, and you’ll find in there my story ‘L’Hôte à Valiquette’, written by Normand Grégoire. So now that it’s out, I’m able to post the whole story, click here if you want to read it.

Well as much I wanted to finish ‘Carrier’ for the end of the month, well it won’t happen. Work stuff (storyboading) as shifted around again and I have to put this short story aside yet again ( sorry Caleb). Since ’Death of an Outlaw’ has an actual publishing deadline coming up in the new year, I’ll have to focus on that one for now.
‘Carrier’ as been one of the weirdest project for me because I keep changing the style for it, ( probably because it’s been on my ‘to do’ pile for more than a year now…sign…) experimenting with different technique and software, sometimes going full traditional with ink and wash, and other times full digital. Anyway, what I’m doing with it now is inking and putting greys in Sketchbook Pro. Here are some panels I did today to show where I’m at now with this…

I’ve finished the 8 pages for ‘Death of an Outlaw’ at the layout stage. Here’s two panels to show how I work my layouts. Done in sketchbook Pro.
A panel test with the ‘painted look’. The advantage of this technique is I don’t have to do inks, I can just paint straight on top of semi-tight pencils…and it’s fun…I just have to get better at it though! The deadline for this story is coming soon. It’s going to be publish next year in the Image anthology ‘Outlaw Territory vol II’. But if Caleb is reading this, don’t worry my patient friend, I’m planning to have Carrier finished by the end of this month!
