Warren- Kids have money…I don’t! Will have to go with old fashion glasses.
Olivier- Pour moi oui…cela a commencer voilà 2 semaine tranquillement et puis soudain la semaine dernière, je me penche sur ma table a dessins et BAM! J`vois double a courte distance.

Back from the eye doctor and I need glasses to draw/ read and for far distances. Good thing I have a Visa!

Been there, done that:) I got my glasses for distances a year and a bit ago. Get some cheapo glasses from the dollar store so you can draw until you get your real pair (unless you’ve already gotten them).

I’m really looking forward to reading your webcomic when it’s up! Get back to work!:)

Hey Blair, yeah I don’t care too much about the distance issue, but it’s the close range I’m frustraded about…weird feeling to all of a sudden not being able to draw. It’s like drawing drunk, haha! Getting my glasses on Thursday though.
Webcomic will go ‘live’ on the 15th. Nice to know I will have at least one reader!
    :)

    Hey salut André!
Ouin ben disons que cela m’a pris par surprise. J’ai jamais penser que mes yeux allaient ‘vieillir’!

Once I got my glasses for distances, I couldn’t believe I was driving without them (especially in the rain). Yeah, you’ll be wearing the ones for close up a lot more, seeing as you’re drawing all day….. either that, or you’ll have to get a really long pencil…..:)

    Hi Daniel!
seeing the new pages of your comic about Haiti really made me happy, I’m definitely a big fan of your art and storytelling
Sorry to read about your eyes my friend, be assured that I’ll be waiting to read the webcomic too
You rock , Daniel, even more now with glasses! (please choose some that won’t make you look like an old schnock ok? ;) )

Hey Dan! Oh yeah I know how that feels. Got my first reading/working glasses about 10 years ago…I too have a whole lot of cheapo ones from places like Indigo books- FYI they have a groovey and inexpensive selection. The prescription glasses stay home at the studio desk and I travel with the cheap ones. Got me a dual focus pair now for both computer screen and drawing distances. Yeah this getting old thing really does SUCK!!(^__^)

Hey is that a Don Quixote figure on your desk?

Emil- Hey Emil, ça fait un bail!!! Comment va ta nouvelle carrière de bédéiste? Et merci pour tes compliments mon ami!:)

Arna- The statue on my desk is a limited edition of Frazetta’s DEATH DEALER…he looks down at me with blood on his axe, telling me to draw more…more!!!!

  13. October 7, 2009 at 8:50 am

J’pensais que t’avais quitter ton dayjob lorsqu’on t’avais offer la job sur la BD. Ça doit être toffe de faire les deux à temps plein…lâche pas! J’ai hâte de voir ça!

Ah yes, Frazetta’s Death Dealer must put the spurs to the work! (^___^)

As the long suffering beautiful wife, I am proud to announce that the resident artiste has finally (after weeks and weeks of whining) embraced the world of four-eyedness. He now owns not one pair, not two pair, but three pair of glasses! I dare not comment on the fashion sense (or lack thereof) behind each and every choice! I know there are forums for artists – but where do all the artist wives get to go and complain???!!!!

  16. November 12, 2009 at 11:01 pm

My blog got hacked!!!My wife got in!!!!!!!

  17. November 13, 2009 at 5:29 pm

Haha!! You two should collaborate more often…

Artists do love to complain. However speaking as an artist and a wife, AND the wife of an artist, I think I do the lions share of complaining in our family. JvB’s the better listener.
